Fashionably Full's Dinner Party Meal

For my launch party food was very important! I planned a dinner party for 20 of my friends and I wanted to cater something that would be delicious and chic! I ordered sushi from one of my favorite local sushi spots Momoya and since I wanted more of a finger food dessert I went with Momofuku Milk Bar and some of my besties brought famous Levain cookies!

I ordered:

  • Party Platter of an assortment of regular rolls
  • Party Platter of speciality Momoya rolls
  • Platter of Crispy rice ** which is one of my favorite foods
  • Platter of Tuna Tortilla ** another one of my favorite foods
  • Edamame
  • 24 assorted cookies from Momofuku Milk Bar
  • 24 assorted cake truffles from Momofuku Milk Bar

Torchy's Tacos - Best Queso in Texas

If you are looking for the best queso in Texas then you need to try Torchy's Tacos.  The queso is un-like any other it is filled with lots of flavor and the perfect texture. It is a must to try! The affordable meal is a staple every time I visit Dallas as I love the different taco options and the home made chips.  Also there is a secret menu featuring some local flavors!

Salt and Straw Ice-Cream

One of the best ice-cream shops I have been to was in LA - Salt & Straw

You know you are at the right place in Venice Beach when you see the long line out the door, but trust me it is worth it! The flavors were unique and delicious savory and sweet. The staff was also charming and provided knowledge about the flavors and allowed multiple taste tests! I went with a scoop of Black Olive & Goat Cheese and then Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie dough and both were delicious!

Cauliflower Pizza Crust

I love a good pizza night! My family loves making home made pizza crust and this time I wanted to try a cauliflower pizza crust! This gluten free basically carb free option tasted amazing and really held up well! I was even able to eat it with my hands

Ingredients:

  • Cauliflower head
  • salt & red pepper flakes
  • one egg
  • one cup of mozzarella cheese
  • pinch or two of parmesan cheese
  • Blender
  • Cheese cloth

Steps:

  1. preheat the oven to 425 degrees
  2. wash and pulverize the cauliflower in the blender until the the cauliflower turn to rice like texture
  3. transfer the cauliflower into a microwave safe bowl and heat up the cauliflower until it is warm
  4. then put the cauliflower into the cheese cloth and squeeze out all of the water ** This is key as this will bind together the cauliflower together to form the dough
  5. once drained very well transfer to a large mixing bowl and mix together the cauliflower, egg, mozzarella & parmesan cheese
  6. add salt and red pepper flakes to taste
  7. form the cauliflower dough onto a non stick baking pan and put in the oven until golden brown
  8. once golden flip the dough over and proceed to top to taste!

some of my favorite toppings in addition to cheese and basil are mushroom, fig & prosciutto

Enjoy!

I finally tried one of the Black Tap milkshakes and I know the question on everyone's mind is ... did it live up to the hype?

The answer - not really. The milkshake looked and did taste amazing but it was a lot of whipped cream and not a lot of shake

I ordered the cookies n cream shake which is one of my go to flavors for ice cream so it was only natural that I tried this in a milkshake form.  Its safe to say I finished the shake with only a few regrets & a minor stomach ache later.

I was lucky to stumble upon the amazing dipping sauces by Sir Kensington's on my way home from work today. It was a food truck set up outside my apartment giving away free French fries with the opportunity to try a variety of their products. Of the options I selected their "special sauce" which was delicious! It was their secret receipt of a spicy mayo ketchup yumminess and I finished the entire thing!

I highly recommend trying and purchasing Sir Kensington's products. They can be ordered online or found in Whole Foods & Fairway.

Jaclyn's Famous - Five Hour Salad

My Famous "5 Hour Salad" ... which really takes tops 15 minutes to prepare

Ingredients:

  1. Sun-dried Tomatoes
  2. Jared Artichoke hearts (Or any version of artichokes)
  3. Arugula
  4. Parmesan Cheese

Instructions:

  1. Pour container of Arugula into a large bowl. This is the base of the salad and the bowl needs to be big enough to mix in the other ingredients
  2. Chop up the sun-dried tomatoes to be bite sized and then dump them into the arugula bowl
  3. chop up the artichokes to be bite sized and then dump them into the arugula bown
  4. Grate chunks of the parmesan directly into the salad
  5. Dress the salad to taste ** In my version I do not add any additional dressing as the sun dried tomatoes come in olive oil
  6. Enjoy!!
