Hello New York!

Malibu Farm just opened it’s doors a few days ago in NYC and we decided to check it out! Known for their first location in beautiful Malibu, they also have locations in Miami, Cabo, Newport Beach, Tokyo and a few other cities. The restaurants boasts their farm-to-table menu and West Coast Atmosphere.

Food

Cauliflower Pizza- really enjoyed this, crust is pretty cheesy so although gluten-free, probably not super healthy.
Broccoli & Chicken Quesadillas- very good as well, the inside of the quesadilla had the ingredients ground up so don’t expect pieces of chicken or broccoli
Kale Salad- a little disappointing given that there wasn’t much to it other than large leaves of kale and romaine with a little bacon and a few cherry tomatoes
Fish Taco- whole fried branzino served with all the taco trimmings on the side, we recommend this

Drinks:
Just tried the Jalapeno Tequila drink and it was quite good, would recommend.

Atmosphere

We were expecting outdoor seating but there is just a small space with outdoor seating that feels more like a lounge area to have drinks. It is by the water with a Brooklyn Bridge view but not directly on the water. The bar is big and nice and the restaurant itself is spacious.

Service

We did encounter a little mishap where they lost our drink order at the bar. We told the waiter that we ordered our drinks 35 minutes ago and they had yet to come so he informed the manager who then came over. They handled it very well and professionally which we appreciated. The restaurant did feel a little understaffed and we weren’t checked on very often (which happened to Vee at the Miami location too) but hopefully they will work that out in NYC as they become established.
