Hello Nice, Hello World!

Nice is a town in the south of France. It is about a 7 – 9 hour flight from NYC and luckily delta flies direct! The town itself is a port town built on the water with beautiful views and beaches.

The main tourist part of the city is the old city. Within the old city is a square with a church and a castle up on a hill. The castle offers a fun hike from the beach all the way to the top of the castle to a secret waterfall. If you are looking to explore the old city for about 4 I would recommend the hike and then lunch in the old city.

Also in the old city in the mornings until around 1 pm is a flower market, which is down the main street of the old city. There were picturesque and fragrant fresh flowers that were for purchase.

For dinner we ate at Le Plongiour in Nice. This restaurant is built to have the illusion that you are floating above the sea. The restaurant takes reservations and I definitely recommend reaching out in advance as they reserve their tables based on the order of when the reservation was received. The menu was small but delicious featuring octopus and fried calamari to begin and then shrimp risotto.
