Hello Los Angeles, Hello World!

A monumental landmark in Los Angeles is the Hollywood Sign!

Los Angeles has many hikes and trails an another famous hike is the Hollywood Sign hike. This trail takes about 4 hours and leads you all the way to the back of the Hollywood sign.

Put this address in your Uber to arrive at the base of the hike: 3200 Canyon Dr, Los Angeles, CA, 90068, USA. If you are driving be sure to get there early since there is limited parking. We took an uber to and from but be cautious that there is no cell phone service once you start your climb.

Once you arrive to Griffith Park, you are going to follow the signs that say Hollywood Sign on the Mulholland Trail. There is about 1.2 Miles from the first marked direction sign on the trail to the Hollywood Sign. Once you continue for a half a mile you will get to another sign that takes you to the Hollywood sign. Keep going!

The trail is a combination of paved road and winding dirt path. The view is amazing and you will see horses and a horse stable on the walk which was a nice surprise.

Keep on going! You will get to sign #3 and it will point you to either the Hollywood sign which is .4 miles away or the Back of the Hollywood Sign .9 miles away (Mt. Lee Summit). Make sure you are paying attention and now follow the signs that say Mt. Lee Summit.

This fork in the road seems short but the .9 miles is all up hill and tough! Once you follow the signs and get to the sign labeled #1 you are only .2 miles away and basically at the back of the sign!

On your walk down you can go to the front of the Hollywood sign if you go back to the fork and follow the signs to the Hollywood Sign .4 miles away.

PRO TIP: Bring lots of water! This is a 4 hour long hike and there is no place for water on the way up! The sun is also incredibly strong so try to make your hike a morning activity before the sun is in its peak.
