NYFW: Jonathan Simkhai

NYFW: Jonathan Simkhai

Jonathan Simkhai

Jonathan Simkhai was an amazing presentation!  This was one of my favorite collections that I saw this season.  Jonathan Simkhai brand is a luxury ready –to-wear line for the confident woman. There was a romantic edge to every piece that matched well with the linear lines and silhouettes.  I was obsessed with almost every piece of the collection and would totally rock the looks. I loved the lace and details on the dresses. I also loved the color schemes of white with a western edge a trend that I am really looking forward to wearing this season.

North Fork Sunflower Fields

North Fork Sunflower Fields

Veronica and I decided to take an adventure and drive about 30 minutes from Westhampton to the North Fork where the vineyards are to explore and look for sunflower fields. We did some research and found a sunflower maze put on by North Fork Potato Chip company. This sunflower maze was $5 a person and had the potential to be absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately we were very late in the season and there has been a few weeks of heavy rain which wilted the sunflowers but Vee & I are able to find beauty and a bright side in any situation and still really enjoyed it and got some great photos!

We are very looking forward to next summer and will be first ones in line to see the sunflowers in the beginning of the season.

Rose Wine Mansion NYC

Rose Wine Mansion NYC

The newest pop up in NYC is Rose Wine Mansion located on 5th avenue, and it is by an instagram dream! The timing of the pop up shop could not have been perfect as Rose is the summers hottest drink. This pop up experience takes you from start to finish and then some on how rose is made and the history of the summer classic drink. The experience is interactive and filled with great moments. Some of my favorite were the gummy bears, champagne bubble ball pit & the opportunity to make your own blend.

Of course this experience is 21+ since you will be sipping your way through every room.

Surf Lodge x Lo-Fi Aperitifs

Surf Lodge x Lo-Fi Aperitifs

This summer has been special for multiple reasons, I spent a lot of time with my family, I partnered with great brands & I attended such fun events.

One of the most exciting event was at my favorite place in Montauk, The Surf Lodge. This summer there is a new Friday night music series produced by California’s Lo-Fi Aperitifs at The Surf Lodge in Montauk featuring 4 amazing bands that will be performing throughout the summer.

I was able to attend D.C.’s Jukebox the Ghost and the series will feature  Baltimore’s Snail Mail on July 20th, as well as Brooklyn’s popular Fever High on August 24th.  The Lo-Fi Live Summer Series is 21+ and free to attend.

In addition to the amazing live music and good vibes that Surf Lodge has to offer, the drink of the summer was served,  Lo-Fi’s new summer signature, the Lo-Sé Spritz – a refreshing blend of two of my favorite ingredients, rose & spritz made with Lo-Fi Gentian Amaro, Dry Rosé, and Soda

Trip to Cape Cod

Trip to Cape Cod

Cape Cod:

For the 4th of July weekend part 2 I traveled to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. This was my first trip to the cape and I absolutely loved it! I stayed with at my BFFs family’s house, which was very relaxing and had such amazing views from every room. The town of Hyannis, Massachusetts reminded me of the Hamptons. It was very quaint with local stores and of course ice cream shops.  We made two trips to Four Seas ice cream shop and I tried the famous pink mint chip flavor, surprisingly so refreshing and tasted amazing.

Since I am a huge lobster lover we checked out Tug Boat for lunch and I highly recommend eating there! The lobster rolls were so fresh and had a lot of meat to it. We also ordered the cape cod’s famous onion ring tower. (this weekend was definitely a cheat weekend!)

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

This past Saturday Vee and I partnered with Veuve Clicquot and attended the 11th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic that took place on Liberty State Park. The adventure began waiting for the ferry for 10am. The ferry was about 15 minutes to the state park and once you got off there was about another 15 minute walk to the venue.

The venue was designed with fun and inspirational content in mind. There were lawn games right when you walk in where you could play corn hole or life sized jenga. There were food trucks lined up for those who were hungry and many bar stations of course offering Veuve.

The actual polo match does not start until later in the day. The polo field was in the center of the venue with prime seating on the side where Vee & I set up our own picnic. We loved people watching and spotting all of the outfit and had a fabulous time!

Napa X Solage X @in_loveandlace

Napa Valley:

Solage:
We stayed at the beautiful Solage Auberge Hotel which was an amazing resort featuring all individual studios, which felt like little villas, a spa, pool and fantastic farm to table restaurant. The hotel also partners with Mercedes Benz and offers complimentary cars that the hotel guests can use to drive around the town ((which we fully took advantage of!)). Veronica and I stayed in studio 50 which was a gorgeous two queen bed studio featuring a bathtub and beautiful backyard space. With studio came two bikes, which we also utilized and had so much fun with! The resort was in the most perfect location biking distance to vineyards and town.

Trip to San Francisco

Trip to San Francisco

Trip to San Francisco

I was lucky to be part of my BFF's (@in_loveandlace) collaboration with Shopstyle x Napa weekend getaway! She invited me as her plus +1 and let me say – we had the best girls weekend!!
We started the trip with an early morning flight from JFK to San Francisco by partnering with Alaska Air, which was perfect, since we had the entire day once we landed.

We maximized our trip on the west coast and stayed at the W hotel on 3rd street for a blissful night! ((see what I did there? Bliss partners with the W hotel chain providing all of the spa products, which are one of my personal favorites)) This was my first time in San Fran and there was so much to do and see.

We hit all the sites and had a very productive day. Our first stop was the Golden Gate Bridge! We stopped at  Crissy Field, which has the best view of the bridge, and we walked along the water and snapped some great photos.

Self-Care Sundays

Self-Care Sundays

How do you relax? Self-care is such an important thing to practice – I love spending time on myself whether it be at the gym, focusing on my skin, getting a manicure or some shopping.

Self-care can be practices daily - it can be a few moments or scheduled time. Here are some tips I like to live by –

  • Healthy work & life balance

  • Manage stress

  • Eating healthy but still indulging when I need to!

  •  Spend time with people who mean the most to me

  • Spend time with myself

Some ways I spend on myself are by always making my bed in the morning. This huge first step sets the tone for my day and helps make my living space clean and tidy. I then each morning spend time on my skin, making sure it is hydrated and apply makeup that contains sunscreen. I also spend time working out at least twice a week to clear my head and get my body moving.

How to pack for a vacation full of sightseeing & food!

I had the opportunity to travel to Italy which I knew would be filled with a lot of adventure, fashion & food. Packing for long trips is not so easy for me as I always tend to overpack but this time I was pretty good and wore about 85% of what I brought! ((and I am still on the trip so there is hope that I packed perfectly))

When packing for a long trip I first think about what shoes I am going to need and then think about how I am going to fit it all in my suitcase.

For a trip of both exploring and enjoying I always pack a pair of white sneakers and wear a pair of nikes on the flight. I love being comfortable and know that I will be doing so much walking so staying comfortable for me is key.

I also pack a pair of black sweatpants to wear during car rides and breakfast and a few pair of jeans in different cuts. Layering & mix and matching is key when traveling so I always pack a few tank tops that can be tucked into jeans, a long sleeved white tee and a black short sleeve tee. I love how white sneakers work with both dark and light washed jeans making them extremely versatile and easy to wear. I also always pack sweater options, a comfortable cashmere duster and then layering shirts for those colder days.

Lastly I pack a few wow pieces, dresses for the dinners and a pair of black booties as well as a leather jacket and another fun piece of outerwear incase it gets chilly.

Spring in Soho

It is officially spring (according to the calendar) and hopefully the flowers start to bloom and the weather changes to be warmer soon! Spring in NYC is very special - Soho is such a magical part of NYC filled with the cutest shops and the buzz of old meets new. Soho stands for SOuth of HOuston and is an integral part of downtown Manhattan.  Soho's cobblestoned lined streets are a popular tourist destination as well as a local favorite. There are some of my favorite shops and restaurants located in the neighborhood and there is always excited when walking down the streets there.

Whether you are familiar or a local Soho will always be a fun and invigorating gem of NYC

Art Week - NYC

Aside from Fashion Week, Art Week is my favorite week to be in the city!

During Art Week the city becomes the center of art fairs and artist are able to exhibit their works for the public to view and purchase. I am members of an art club, Artadia, and through them I receive VIP tickets to all of the art fairs.

I love how art evokes different emotions, can tell a story, and be a form of self expression.

If you are in NYC here are my top art fairs that I reccomend checking out!
Armory
Nada
Scope
Art on Paper
Frieze
Affordable Art Fair

Nightlife in Miami

Nightlife in Miami

Our nightlife activities this weekend was a bit different than our previous trips. We tried new hot sports and had a more activity focused trip.

The first night we arrived in Miami we had the most amazing & delicious dinner at Byblos Following dinner we went out to the coolest bar and lounge,  Sweet Liberty.  This was my first time at both places and I was obsessed with dinner and absolutely loved the vibe at the bar. The décor at the bar was very millennial focused featuring a neon sign that read “Pursue Happiness” in hot pink, exciting wall paper of different lips and a very kitschy drink menu with one of the most popular cocktails, the “basic bitch”. After the bar we walked down the street to Ora Nightclub.

Our second night, Friday, we ate dinner at Cecconis at Soho House and it was another delicious meal. (I need to preface this with two hours before dinner I ate Nobu in the hotel lobby, so I was not as hungry as I usually am). My BFF whom I traveled with just became a member of Soho House so we went to check out the club after dinner. I am obsessed with how cool and cute the club was also I must note there was a major celeb siting which made the night the even more exciting.  After our drink at Soho House we walked across the street for a late night of clubbing – First at LIV and then to a more private club, Anti Social Club.

Our Last night we had dinner at Giannis and then went bowling! After the previous two nights of late night clubbing it was nice to have a more relaxed night of bowling – or that is what we thought. Bowling was very cool and took place at the basement of the edition hotel so it was a great vibe with lots of other things to do down there. The night did not end there, since we went back to LIV and then a nightcap at Soho House.

Steps to Protect Your Skin when Packing for a Warm Weather Trip!

Packing for a warm weather weekend vacation sounds easy but for me it is always a struggle! I am an over packer since I love to have multiple options and be prepared for colder weather ((I always find myself over packing in the sweatpant & tee-shirt department). One thing I do take very seriously on vacation is my skincare routine.

For my most recent trip I wanted to make sure I packed enough sunscreen and moisturizer to last the entire weekend.  My skin is one that tans very easily but I still want to protect it from any long term sun damage.

I start each morning applying Neutrogena face, oil free, sunscreen and then apply a sports spray sunscreen to the rest of my body.  I pack a hat and sunglasses as well as a long sleeve white shirt to wear if I start to burn. My secret weapon that I bring with me on every warm weather vacation is lip sunscreen in two forms – the first a chap stick and the second is in zinc.  My lips use to always burn on vacation but now that I apply zinc when I get to the sun they are completely protected

Lastly I need to stay hydrated by ordering a fresh coconut or by drinking a lot of water when spending the day outside!

NYFW- Leanne Marshall

One of my favorite shows that I saw this week was Leanne Marshall. I absolutely loved her collection of bright, vibrant and beautiful gowns. Each one that came out was more stunning than the one before. I loved how the colors popped on all of the models. The girly and flirty silhouettes explored a scalloped motif, different necklines and different fabric illusions.  Safe to say I am very looking forward to this collection coming to life next season!

NYFW - Enny Luap

Enny Luap was an amazing show that featured wear now clothing for the modern & sophisticated girl. Each look was tailored and perfectly styled with well put together hair, makeup and accessories. The loos ranged from a variety of dresses, pencil skirts & more casual denim looks. The easy and totally wearable dresses were my favorite and I am looking forward to seeing more from this designer in the future!
