Amsterdam Travel in Style

The Looks:

The weather in Amsterdam was very chilly with on and off rain. I tried my best to pack light since I had a feeling I would do some shopping; however, I did not pack light enough! The shopping in Amsterdam was amazing! Vee & I also planned the trip perfectly when all of the stores would be on sale allowing for some major discounted ticket prices. We walked all around the area near our hotel and found hidden gems as well as some mainstream shops such.

West Coast Road Trip Looks

West Coast Road Trip Looks

I was very inspired by the wild Wild West when packing for my West Coast road trip. I searched for fabrics that were inspired by nature in autumnal color palettes.

I am loving animal print this season, especially tonal snake skin & leopard print. Since these prints are sometimes bold, I love pairing them with toned down pieces so the patterns really pop.

NYFW: Jonathan Simkhai

NYFW: Jonathan Simkhai

Jonathan Simkhai

Jonathan Simkhai was an amazing presentation!  This was one of my favorite collections that I saw this season.  Jonathan Simkhai brand is a luxury ready –to-wear line for the confident woman. There was a romantic edge to every piece that matched well with the linear lines and silhouettes.  I was obsessed with almost every piece of the collection and would totally rock the looks. I loved the lace and details on the dresses. I also loved the color schemes of white with a western edge a trend that I am really looking forward to wearing this season.

Century 21 for Summer

Century 21 for Summer

Who knew that Century 21 had such amazing finds? Literally some of the top designers at amazing price points. I partnered with Century 21 to pick out a few knockout pieces to style and let me tell you that I had a very hard time narrowing down my options. I found great looks perfect for summer. I bought two pairs of shorts and two blouses all for under $200. The retail on each shirt alone was closer to $200 so this was definitely a great value.  The shopping experience was also very enjoyable – the racks were clearly labeled by designer and I  had no trouble finding my size.

Red x White & Blue

Red x White & Blue

I love a good reason to dress for an occasion!
 July 4th is no exception

Red x White x Blue is very festive & patriotic. There are many ways to mix these three colors to create the perfect holiday outfit and when worn together the outfit becomes very festive.

I paired denim cut offs with a red long sleeve blouse and white sneakers to cover all of the colors!

Robe Jackets

Robe Jackets

What is a a Robe Jacket? ((might not be the actual name)) but to me they are jackets that resemble robes since they do not have any zippers or buttons and they way they remain closed is with a tie.

I purchased one that I am currently loving at Zara and it is perfect for this time a yea because it is still lightweight and the pattern is so fun. The one i'm currently styling has some black in it but the main colors are periwinkle & ashy purple. Since this piece is the focal point of my look I styled it with an all black underpinnings that way the robe jacket could really pop!

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

This past Saturday Vee and I partnered with Veuve Clicquot and attended the 11th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic that took place on Liberty State Park. The adventure began waiting for the ferry for 10am. The ferry was about 15 minutes to the state park and once you got off there was about another 15 minute walk to the venue.

The venue was designed with fun and inspirational content in mind. There were lawn games right when you walk in where you could play corn hole or life sized jenga. There were food trucks lined up for those who were hungry and many bar stations of course offering Veuve.

The actual polo match does not start until later in the day. The polo field was in the center of the venue with prime seating on the side where Vee & I set up our own picnic. We loved people watching and spotting all of the outfit and had a fabulous time!

Sets for Spring!

Sets for Spring!

Sets are becoming way more popular this season. I am seeing them everywhere and I am definitely on board with this trend! I love the versatility of a matching top and bottom as you could wear them separately and of course together. I also love how polished the outfit looks with the matching top and bottom duo. Its also a great way to play with color as you know the top and bottom will work and not clash with one another.

Sneakers you will want to wear outside the gym!

Sneakers are a staple in my wardrobe purely because they are so comfortable! I know, not the trendiest or sexiest shoe but the beauty of sneakers is how comfortable they are, especially for long time wear!

There are a range of styles that work for every day wear such as a an all white look and a more athleisure  style. One trick I tend to follow when wearing a more traditional sneaker is maintain a monotoned outfit with the focus on the shoes. I also pair sneakers with skinny jeans and a more structured top or jacket such as the sherpa below or a leather jacket. A fitted jacket with an edge transitions the look elevating it from looking like I just left the gym.

Silk Scarves

A signature item in my closet are my Silk Scarves. This item is so precious to me as my mother would collect them as a special present every year. This inspired her to pass down these memories and turned into a tradition of me receiving a scarf every year around the holidays and for my birthday! She wears them with grace and looks elegant inspiring my collection to grow! ((It also doesn't hurt that I have a second collection to use whenever I get a chance to peak into her closet)) These scarves are so colorful and have so many different pattern x color combinations that one of my favorite things to do with my mom is go to the store and pick out which scarf I love the most! Each year one is a surprise and one I get to pick which makes it even more fun.

I love how easy they are to wear as well as the colors they add to any outfit! The look can instantly change depending on which scarf you put on and how you style it!

Warm Earth Tones

Tonal dressing is a timeless look - I paired together warm earth tones of grey and greens to pull together a classic and polished outfit.  A dark charcoal grey skinny jean pairs back very well with mossy greens and black accessories completing the look. Here I opted out of wearing any brown tones as I did not want to take the earth tone look too literally. I do balance out the mossy green sweater with a more muted and tighter pant finishing the look!

Color blocking

An easy way to gradually introduce color into a look is by wearing a cool print or pattern. In this case I have styled a color blocked sweater with my black ripped jeans and booties. Color blocking is when two colors are placed next to one another. In this look the green and black part of the sweater form a stripe.  The sweater is not only cozy but I the boxy silhouette works with the color blocked design. I usually do not wear boxy tops as I like my clothing to have some shape but I like the complementary horizontal lines here. Shop below some of my favorite color blocked looks on the market right now!

Fashion Week Day 2-

It finally warmed up ((slightly)) in NYC so I was ready to bring out one of my favorite dresses I bought this season. You might recognize this look from my Launch Party; however, I styled it completely different for this event! I wanted to add the edge by styling the IRO red wrap dress with combat boots and a faux sherpa bomber. I also added in a Black Chanel with grey hardware to match my shoes adding an extra component to complete the look. This outfit was also perfect for running around the city all day as the shoes were so comfortable and rain resistant.

Check out the look!

All Black & a Fun Bag for my last show of Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2018. I wore an outfit that I could both wear to work & to a show. Since I had to go to my 9-5 job I wanted to wear something comfortable and sophisticated. All black with a chic leather jacket is a timeless look perfect for multiple occasions. To add a bit of fashion I brought one of my favorite pieces, my trendy Chanel bag. This bag has such a fun aspect to it with its shape and print. I also love the earth tones an colors in it!

NYFW - SuitSupply

2/5/18

Today SuitSupply had their Fall/Winter 2018 Fashion Presentation at Cadillac House in NYC and it was a great introduction to the new collection. SuitSupply is an European men's fashion brand known for expert tailoring and detail. This collection features a lot of earth toned rich fabrics and colors. Mixed fabrication was used such as moleskin, baby alpaca, and flannel creating a luxe effect. When you walked through the door you were greeted with a collection of guys and pinks.  Some of my favorite looks are the stone grey suiting with pink accents creating a timeless suit. The next subsection was a blend of rich emerald and army green highlights. The last section was a classic brown and blue combination of different tailored pieces. I loved the styling that each look brought. There was the perfect balance of formal dressing and casual charm. I am looking forward to seeing these looks come to life off the runway and on men throughout the streets of New York!

2.4.18

Since the majority of my closet is in neutral tones, mostly black, I like to buy bold and bright accessories. One of my investment pieces was this deep red Chanel bag that I purchased while in Paris over one of my travels. Although definitely on the more expensive side I love what this bag brings to a look. It is both elegant and playful, due to the classic silhouette but updated color. I have gotten a lot of use out of this bag partially because it works with most of my outfits and because I have taken very good care of it when not in use. I store it in the original box within the dust bag.

2.3.18

Sometimes shoes are not the focus of an outfit - however when I wear something a little bit more simple I love to add a bit of "extra" with a fun pair of heels. I found these black and white booties at Zara and paired them with black jeans and a white tee. These booties work with both jeans & something mini. The heel height is also perfect for a night out or day time as they are extremely comfortable.
