NYFW Spring Summer 2018
/Fashion week to me is all about standing out and testing the limits with fashion. I like to style my pieces in a different more risky way than I would for everyday wear. I also find such inspiration from the street styles around me during fashion week. Since other influencers & fashionistas also experiment and try new trend ideas during this weeklong shows. The September shows are for Spring/Summer 2019 and are the perfect way to showcase fall trends. This might seem hard since usually around September it is still very warm in NYC. I tried to dress for the warm weather but show my take on some fall trends. For this fall I am all about patterns within neutral colors. I experimented with pattern on pattern and some bolder prints that I would not normally wear.
Black floral Misa Los Angeles dress with black and white floral Zara booties and a black & white Balenciaga bag
With this look I was all about floral on floral. Misa is one of my favorite dress designers due to their girly and fun silhouettes and prints. I was drawn to this dress because it was sexy and playful but still showcased fall colors because of the black background in the flowers. I also loved pairing a black and white floral shoe with the dress to add another level to the look. I was dressed in floral from head to toe!
Pink & black hounds tooth mini dress with Alaia shoes and a Balenciaga bag
Pink and Black was a color combo I saw at a few shows this season and I was happy to already be ahead of the curve here. What I liked about the dress was the oversized pattern of the hounds tooth. The geometric pattern really popped and I paired this loud dress with paten leather lace up booties from a shoe designer that I love!
Black Leather mini skirt with a houndstooth printed shirt and clear rain jacket
My third look was one of my favorites this season. I love mixing black and white together, especially if there is an interesting pattern. The weather on day 3 was disgusting so I had to incorporate some way of protecting myself from the rain. I purchased this amazing translucent rain jacket which added another layer to my look. Since it was translucent you were able to see the layers under and it added
Parker pink floral mini dress with a Black Leather Jacket
This was one look that to me looked the most mainstream. I love how it came together but I could easily wear this going to dinner or on a date. I love the easiness of the dress and since it was chillier that day (75 degree) I styled the dress with my favorite IRO leather jacket over to add a bit of fall to the floral.
Pink Misa Los Angeles Mini dress with Gucci silver glitter sneakers
Sneakers are all the rage this season, especially those chunky “dad sneakers”. Since I love sneakers but hate the look when my feet look big, like clown shoes, I opted for a slimmer but fun pair to rock this fashion week. I brought out my Gucci silver sparkle sneakers with the planets on the side.
